There are a plethora of cap types and each one requires a unique torqueing process; which in turn; requires a specific chuck. Having a customized chuck for cap torque testing is very advantageous, and there are various chuck options available to you. Mesa Laboratories offers a number of different chuck and collet designs for the Torqo and SureTorque models, each with their own recommended applications. When testing closure torque, a critical part of the process is the closure gripping. To find the optimal chuck choice for your operation all variables must be considered:
- Compatibility with the torque tester model,
- Topload requirements (for child resistant (CR) closures,
- Type of cap (pump dispenser cap vs standard vs child resistant cap), and
- Type of testing (measuring thread break only vs measuring the bridge break of a tamper evident band or testing the reverse ratchet torque of a child resistant closure).
